The history of Ladbrokes bookmaker can be traced back to the year 1886 by a pair with the names of Pendleton and Schwind. These two were commission agents for horse who were trained at Ladbroke Hall. Ladbrokes owns more than 2,200 betting shops and parlors in the UK, Ireland and Belgium and is by far the largest operation of its kind in the world, with Ladbrokes also as the largest betting company in the UK. In addition to the betting shops, they own online properties as well which include not only sports betting, but online casinos, online poker, bingo and backgammon as well. Their platform is the OpenBet System from Orbis Technology. What many people may not know was that Ladbrokes also owned Vernon’s which was founded in 1925.
